Swedish Government Sells Bitcoin At Above Market Prices

Sweden officials auctionend off bitcoin today at higher than market average prices. The Swedish government first announced the sale last Thursday. The government was only auctioning off 0.6 BTC and 0.6 worth of Bitcoin cash - worth roughly $3420.00 and $280 respectively at time of writing.

Kronofogden, which acts as a debt collection agency of sorts, received almost double the market value for the crypto, receiving $6,841 for the sale.

Kronofogden is not alone in government agencies seizing bitcoin. The U.S department of justice previously seized 144, 336 bitcoins when Silk Road was shut down. At the time of writing, that's over $800 million in bitcoin. Whew.

It will be interesting to see what happens as more governments seize bitcoin for various reasons.
